Antonio García Carranza

Antonio García Carranza is the current Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Migratory Affairs of Honduras. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 1975. He holds a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras.

García Carranza began his diplomatic career in 2002, when he was appointed third secretary at the Embassy of Honduras in Guatemala. In 2005, he was promoted to second secretary and assigned to the Embassy of Honduras in Spain. In 2008, he was promoted to First Secretary and assigned to the Honduran Embassy in the United States.

In 2011, García Carranza was appointed Director of Consular and Migratory Affairs of the Honduran Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this position, he was responsible for coordinating the Honduran government’s actions to assist Hondurans abroad.

In 2023, García Carranza was appointed Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Migratory Affairs. In this position, he is responsible for Honduras’ foreign policy on consular and migratory affairs.
